The Buttons on the left side of the page and what they doMy Ranch-This button brings up your Ranch Page. This is the main starting point of the Game. You have your Pastures listed here, as well as a link to "
Manage Land", this is where you can make New Pastures, buy Land, and Name and Arrange Pastures.
There are also links to your "
Balance Sheet", "
Manage Account", and "
Apply For Brand" pages here.
Please Note that Each Acre of land allows you to keep 10 animals, do not buy alot of land you don't yet need, 5 acres is more than enough to start out with and you will need your RCs for other things.
The
Balance Sheet is just that, a balance sheet for all money coming in, going out, as well as your current balance, you can look at it as your Render Ranch checkbook ledger.
The
Manage Account page has some things you need to know about.
- First you can change your password here, if you think someone else has gained access to your account the first thing you should do is to change your password. Otherwise leave the "Old Password:" and "New Password:" sections alone, they are not used for anything other than changing your password.
- Below that you have a "Ranch Notes:" section. If you wish to write something to other ranchers visiting your ranch write it here. This Space is also used to customize your ranch page with CSS code, for more info on this see Ranch Page Customization, in the Advanced Subjects Section of the Wiki.
- Next is the "Signature:" section, here you may type a signature to be added to the end of your Message Board Posts, as well as the HTML code for a Signature Image, or both. There is a limit to the room here, please go to the Message Boards, Signature Test Area to try out any changes before posting to the general Boards. Trying to put more in than it has room for saving and not having a full line of HTML causes problems on the Boards, we would rather have the test area messed up than the main areas!
- Next there are 3 Check Box Choices.
Accept Animal Gifts: - check if you want others not on your friends list to be able to send you animals.
Private Ranch: - Check here to make your ranch private, no one except those on your Friends List, Mods and Staff, can see your ranch page or pastures.
Show Animal Pictures: - Check here to be able to see the animal pictures on their pedigree pages, not all breeds have pictures yet and if you have slow dial-up internet you may want to not have them displayed.
- Next is a multiple choice for "Displays Stats as:", click the button next to either "Numbers" or "Percentage of Top Animal" to either display the Actual Stat Numbers or the Percentage the animal is in relation to the top animal in that breed on Render Ranch. This affects what is displayed in pasture pages as well as most other Render Ranch pages that display a list of your animals. Try both and stay with the one you like better.
- Last thing to Choose is your preferred "Color Scheme:". This one has a drop down selector of all available Background Colors.
- Be Sure to click the Save button before closing or otherwise leaving the page as any changes not saved will not take effect.
The
Apply For Brand page should not be used until you are well setup and have a good income, it costs 20,000 RCs to buy, and adds a cost of 125 Ranch Cash to every name change it is used on, even the first "Free" name change.
Ranch Mail- This is where you can access the Render Ranch version of Email, you can send and receive private messages to any other Rancher here. Also has links to your Friends List here and the option to Block Ranch Mail if someone is being less than polite or just plain being annoying. Note, Block Ranch Mail is rancher specific, other people will still be able to send you Rmails.
Please use the Block Ranch Mail option if someone is being rude or nasty in Rmail and report the person to a Render Ranch Mod or Staff Member, we will deal with impolite ranchers up to and including closing their ranch. We want to keep Render Ranch a Friendly and Polite Community.
Friends- You can add to, approve requests to be your Friend, and remove Friends from your Friends list here. Friends can see your ranch whether it is private or not.
Message Boards- Boards to post Bugs you have found in the game, Suggestions to improve the game, a Q&A board, a place to test signature graphics
(if you wish to make one for yourself), a place to advertise animals for sale and offer to buy animals, the Front Porch Swing, a place for general RR discussions and even a Beggars Board for if you are down on your luck and need to ask for free RCs or free animals. We also have
Top Show Animals - The Render Ranch Hall of Fame Message Board, but this one has some Special Rules, if you have an animal that qualifies for an award you should Ranch Mail 'Irishnut', she is the only one who is supposed to post there, any posts by other users will be deleted. This is to insure that all awards are genuine, she will check the animal's records and if it qualifies post it in the appropriate category.
If you want to start a new topic, look to the top right part of the white area, there's a blue link to "Start A New Topic", click that to open a new thread.
If you want to reply to a thread that is already posted just scroll to the bottom of the posts and click on "Post a Reply" to reply to that thread, you may also have to click "View All WARNING! This may take a long time to load." link to see all of longer threads.
Animal Hospital- The Render Ranch Vet. Open this page and if any animals are listed then they need to see the Vet, if none show up then they are all in top health. We would recommend checking in here at least daily, possibly more often if you race your animals as racing reduces their Condition, it hits 0 and the animal will die.
Gain County Fair- A place to buy and sell animals. Animals bought here are instantly delivered to your Open Range pasture. Click on the Animal's Name to see their Pedigree page or the Buy link to buy the one(s) you want. There is also a "Buy" link on the Pedigree page when animals are for sale in the Fair. Note that currently animals only live around 2 months, so you don't normally want to buy animals that are over 1 1/2 months old.
BidBe Auction House- This is where you buy and sell animals at auction. You can place bids on animals you want but they will not be delivered to your Ranch until the auction ends, and that's if you win the auction! Good place to sell any "Hot" selling animals, new colors or breeds when first introduced usually sell for premium prices at the auction. Also animals with higher than average stats or rare colors usually do well at the Auction.
Shows- The animal shows on Render Ranch, set-up your own shows or enter yours or others shows here. All the Judges judge a little differently, so try to figure out what each judge likes most in an animal and you will do better in the shows! Breed for top quality and show it off here. Also the shows can improve the Show Quality of your animals, every ribbon won adds 2 points to an animal's Show Quality! Just being in a show adds 1.
Trading Post- A place to safely do private transactions between 2 Ranchers, if you don't completely trust the person you are dealing with then do the transaction thru the trading post. It's a little complicated but cannot be cheated, there are instruction on how to use the Trading Post in the "The Trading Post User's Manual" page of the Wiki.
Races- The Gain County Racing Commission authorized racing tracks are here. Build a race track, organize a race on an existing track, sponsor a race, or enter your animals in a race, it's all done here.
Animal Sanctuary- The Animal Sanctuary is run by Miss Confidential.
You can sell an animal to her sanctuary, but you will only get a small percent of the animal's value, currently 24.12% of the Market Value, but it varies with the RR Economy. I would recommend sending an animal to the sanctuary only if it has low Condition and/or Show Quality and genes for only common colors, since it would not be likely to sell anyway. I usually put my unwanted animals up for sale for a week or two, if they don't sell it's off to the Animal Sanctuary!
Animals that won't sell at the Fair or Auction House may be sold here to clear space on your Ranch.
Be sure you want to send an animal to the sanctuary as
once sent they cannot be taken back out. After opening the Animal Sanctuary page you can select the pasture your animal's in, you have the option of checking a box next to the animal you want to send and then clicking the "Send Checked" button on the bottom left of the page, or simply clicking the "Send All" button on the bottom right of the page,
Send All Will send the entire pasture of animals to the Sanctuary! Use with Caution!
Token Store- Buy & Sell Tokens here, as well as buy Game Tickets, Play in the Game Room, Check your Current Tokens and buy Animals, extra Acres, or Permits for Special Breeds on Render Ranch.

Sign Out- This button becomes the
Sign In button after you sign out of Render Ranch, useful for switching accounts if you have more than 1 account.
Note, there currently is a bug where that if you are signed in thru the WWW address you may not be able to sign out and change accounts, the bug automatically signs you back into the last used account when you hit the Sign-In button, not giving you the chance to enter a username and password, this could also be viewed as a security risk on a shared computer as anyone using that computer would be automatically logged into your account as well. Until this is resolved please use the http://renderranch.com address to log in and out if you experience the logout bug.
The "Group" section below your pastures are special grouping of the animals in the pastures above.Pregnant- It's pretty much self explanatory, any females you have bred show up here. Their due dates are listed here, as well as the ability to move them to a new pasture if you want all of your pregnant females in one pasture. I don't but it's an option.
At Stud- All Males you have set for public stud are listed here.
For Sale At Fair- Any animals you have sent to the Gain County Fair show up here. You can pull animals out of the Fair and change the asking price as well on this page.
Entered in A Show- All animals that you currently have entered in a show. From the list you can click on an animal's name, this will open it's pedigree page, here you can click on "View Show & Race Stats" link, on the page that opens you have the option to remove the animal from the show it is currently in, but be aware that
the entry fee you paid to put the animal in the show will Not be refunded. This is useful if you enter in a show that has "un-official" restrictions and you entered the wrong animal by mistake.
In Todays Shows- Like the above except it only shows those that are in a show that will or has been judged today. Note that all Shows are judged at Noon, Render Ranch Time. And Entries Close at 11:00 AM Render Ranch Time.
Females- All your Female animals, shown 50 at a time.
(assuming you have more than 50 female animals on your ranch)
Males- All your Male animals. Convenient place to put your Males out to Public Stud, displays 25 at a time. Saves opening every males page just to put them out to stud, enter "Stud Cost"
(the price you want paid for your stud's usage-I usually charge half of the animal's Market Value as a stud fee, less if it's low quality, more if it's a rare color or very high stats) and "Stud Count".
(how many times you will allow your animal to be used for stud) When you have entered the amounts you want click the "Save" button at the bottom left of the page, once the page refreshes you can click on the "Next 25" link to see more of your Males.
Below the Group section is the "
Daily Times Headlines" section, occasionally there will be RR news, stories and polls placed here, sometimes important game changes and other info so check for new links here daily. Click on the name of the article to view any news articles that are there, or just click on "
