Render Ranch Help System

The First Page (this is a 3 page form)

First is a fill in box for the show's name.
This is limited to 30 Characters, so be short but descriptive, preferably with the breed and color restrictions (if any) as part of the name but this is not a Rule! Just a suggestion, as it makes finding the shows you can enter easier. Be creative or not with the name, there's nothing wrong with "Dog Show" but "Renderville Dog Lover's Show" sounds more interesting!

Next is a section "Make your show more noticeable! Change the color of your Title. Color Titles cost an additional 500 Ranch Cash."
First note that they do cost an Additional 500 RCs to use one, next be sure you want one before you click on one because once you have clicked one there is no way (currently) to re-select none. They do make the Show's name Bold and Colorful and they do stand out more than non-colored names but is it worth 500 RCs? That's your decision.

Entry Fee is next
This can be any whole number from 0 to 999999999 (yes there are 9 spaces available) use no commas or decimal points. Generally a good rule of thumb is to look at other shows in the breed you are sponsoring a show for and follow their lead somewhat. If most other shows are 100 RC entry and 2500 RC in prizes you are not going to do too well asking 500RC for a 3000 RC in prizes show! Also keep in mind there is a 1000 RC fee for setting up your show and the first three prizes must all be more than the entry fee. Also all the cash prizes come out of your pocket, so you want to charge enough so you can reasonably expect to at least break even and hopefully make a profit off the show.

Age Range is the next option
There's a drop down menu for Babies (0-3 days old), Adults (3+ days old), Seniors (30+ days old), and Custom Age Range. If you select Custom then you have to enter an age range, use the fill in boxes next to "Minimum Age:" and "Maximum Age:". This is entered in Days and keep in mind most animals don't live past 90 days! Leave it at -None- if you don't want to restrict your show by age.

Breed
Drop down menu, chose the breed you want your show to be for or leave it on -None- for an All-Breed Show.

Gender
Again a drop down menu, choose Male, Female, or -None- to not restrict by gender.

Next is Show Restrictions
Another drop down, you can choose -None- for no additional restrictions or choose Amateur or Professional animals, or Basic or Grade A Ranches. (I'm assuming that Regular Ranches would be included under Grade A but not sure)

Judges
Pick a Judge to judge your show. Different Judges like different qualities in animals and will place animals differently.

Judging Date
Drop down list with the most recent dates at the top of the list, the further down you go the farther off the show will be scheduled, pick any date you like but be aware that while it's not against any of the Rules it is considered rude and in bad taste to schedule a similar show under the same judge on the same day as one already scheduled by another Rancher, so please do check if there's a conflicting show on the same day. Feel free to schedule shows limited to a certain color under the same judge as ones restricted for other colors or otherwise differently restricted.

And Last for the first Page, Show Information
Write anything or nothing, your choice, just a space provided for you to use if you want to add some information or comments about your show, not required to be filled in.

Click Next Button when ready for the next page.

Second Page

Color Restrictions
Again a drop down list, again leaving it on -None- allows all colors to enter.
If you want the show restricted to one color use the drop down to choose, the actual color choices vary depending on what breed or lack of breed restrictions you chose on the first page, also it currently restricts the show to Pure colors only. (White Dominant and Recessive for example is considered Pure)
And remember if you are making an All-Breed show that not all colors are in all breeds!

Next is the Prizes Section
As it says on the page "Enter the prizes for your winners here. You must enter at least 3 prizes. Start with the highest value prize at the top and work down. All three of the top prizes must have a higher value then the entry fee."
You must give out at least 3 Placements/prizes, you can do up to ten. And the first 3 all have to be more than the entry fee.
You can type the amounts into the slots by each placement or use the Auto-Calculate Prizes option at the bottom, simply chose how many prizes you want awarded and the total prize value you are putting up for the show and click Calculate Prize button and the RCs will be divided up and filled in for you. I will note that some Ranchers don't like the Auto-Calc prize distribution but most seem to be willing to accept it as it is a time saver if you are doing alot of shows a day.

At the bottom of this page you have a choice of Previous or Next buttons.
If you want to go back and change any of your choices on page 1 use Previous, if not click Next.

Third and Final Page!

Simply a confirmation page, look it over carefully and be sure all your selections are there and correct, if not use the Previous button to go back and make changes, when you are sure the show is setup as you want it click Finish. This will take you to a screen that tells you your show was added to the list of shows. You can close this page or whatever you want to go to next.
Please Note that once you click Finish there is currently no way to change your show, be sure before you click!
